The Dow Chemical Company's Finance function has an exciting and challenging opportunity in its Internal Audit group for a Staff Auditor, located at World Headquarters in Midland, Michigan. Dow's Corporate Auditing provides a variety of exposures across functions, businesses, and geographies, and works to promote an effective control environment through audit reviews, consulting, and education. Audit reviews are global in scope and involve such areas as inventory management, purchasing, accounts payable, market/sell, information systems, treasury and payroll. Staff Auditors serve as a team member for internal audits. Most audit work is done in teams of 2 to 6 persons. Each member of the team has the responsibility for reviewing the controls related to one or more processes under the supervision of an Audit Project Manager. Audits are comprised of an Audit Project Manager, Staff Auditors and Information Systems Auditors.

Critical responsibilities include:
* Responsible for specific components of an internal business or function's audit scope
* Conduct interviews, perform tests, document and make evaluations on specific findings
* Responsible for one or more items on the Audit department's Responsibility Matrix, either in a primary or team member role.
* Stay informed of topics in this financial area, and maintain and improve specific audit programs/templates for this area
* Understand and evaluate all types of processes
The successful candidate will have good knowledge of internal control concepts and an excellent analytical skill-set. Incumbents must be able to quickly understand and evaluate all types of processes and effectively interface with other Company personnel throughout the world in an environment which can at times be pervceived as confrontational. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related finance discipline. Prefer Masters or MBA in related finance discipline
Requires:
* Minimum 2 years experience in a large CPA firm
* 25-35% travel, typically in 3 week trips. A majority of the travel is international.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Prefer:
* Relevant work experience in a Manufacturing industry
* Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor.
* SAP R2 or R3 business systems experience
* Fluency in other languages is a plus
A minimum requirement for this U.S. - based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
