Senior Research Engineer:
Support and improve existing Dow products in areas of foams, field-responsive fluids, formulations, dispersions, polymers, composites etc. Quantify performance requirements for unmet needs and met needs in existing markets and/ or for new markets where projects have been assigned. Identify measurement tools internally and externally where application processing performance and application properties can be measured, and the means of resolving any measurement gaps and deficiencies. Lead the development teams to arrive at solutions encompassing the best fit of technology and assets meeting the market needs. Lead the market qualification of the product prototypes in new markets and applications on a global basis. Use sound working knowledge of product design, translation of market needs into material characteristics and fabrication technology capabilities, internal production capabilities and internal work processes. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in product property requirements for existing applications and identifying the technology, experiments and intellectual asset issues associated with the development project targets.
Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related engineering or science discipline is required for this role. Two years experience in the job offered or in the related occupation of Research Assistant also required. Prior experience with the following skill sets also required:
* Mechanics of Complex Fluids
* Multi-Scale Systems & Meso-Scale Machinery
* Rheological & Mechanical Characterization of Fluids, Composites, and Polymeric Systems
* Expertise in Dispersions, Emulsions, and Suspensions & Formulations
